Try listening to Carl's compositions devoid of picture, and you will be instantly amazed. It is amazing what emotions are still excited sans visual animation. Apart from being a huge influence on John Zorn and his Naked City endeavors, Carl wrote some of the most physically demanding music ever...put down the wheat germ Miles.
